Thoksikhar — also written Thoqsi Khar or Thorsikar — is a historic ridge-top fort and khankah above Khaplu in Baltistan, reached by a moderately steep hiking trail that begins near Khaplu Palace. The summit combines the remains of a small stone fort with an old mosque and delivers a full 360° panorama of the Shyok Valley below, the Khaplu oasis, and the mighty Masherbrum (K1, 7,821m) on the horizon. Popular with travellers who add a morning hike to a standard Khaplu day.
