Ahead of Chilam; Astore valley features most scenic landscape of Himalayas, carpeted grass, rocky ridges and wide meadows end at a small village of Minimarg. Special army permissions are required to visit this section of Astore (Chilam - Minimarg), which are easier now, and one can do day tours to Minimarg if you have a 4 x 4 vehicle. From Chilam its a journey of about two hours, zig zagging through pin loops of Burzil and then cruising through meadows of Minimarg. For foreigners you still need special NOC’s & Permissions.
