Taobut is the last village on the Neelum Valley road, deep in Azad Kashmir near the Line of Control. It sits at the very end of the tarmac, where the Kishanganga (Neelum) River enters Pakistan through a bowl of emerald meadows, wooden mountain houses and pine-covered slopes. Access requires a NOC from AJK authorities and the drive from Kel is a three-hour jeep leg — that combination is exactly why Taobut has stayed one of the most pristine mountain valleys in the country.
