Edge of the Tree Line
At an elevation of 2900m, Sor Laspur is a quite scenic village perfectly stretched along wide ridges leading towards Shandur & Bashkargol lake. Its a base station for trekking to Bashkargol lake and porters or guide can be hired from here. There is also a small Museum alongside Mastuj-Shandur Road; that preserves history of Laspur valley and is worth paying a visit. Autumn in Sor Laspur is unreal with its countless poplar & apricot trees, painting the entire valley in Yellow and Orange Hues. Accessible by only jeep; hourlong journey to Sor Laspur passes through impressive mud and stone slides, Shandur pass is just a jeep ride of less than an hour from here.
