Shandur Lake although remains frozen from Nov-April, but in summers the vast lake manifests itself in the plains of Shandoor. Its has a picturesque backdrop of lofty icy peaks and its marshy edges though enhancing its hues makes it impossible to access its water body. There is also a relatively small lake towards Ghizer side of pass which is more feasible for camping. Its almost a journey of 2.5 hours from Mastuj and a 2 hours from Phandar.
