The Orange Fort
The orange fortified block, amidst the cluster of enormous Chinar trees, stands at the bend of Chitral river was built in 1774 by ruling Katurs and restored in 1911 by Shuja ul Mulk. Due to his commanding position over the riverside, it was epicentre of many regime changes and was the very scene of siege of Chitral in 1895. It was considered most easily defended of all the forts in Northeren Pakistan.
