Minapin is the trailhead village for the classic Rakaposhi Base Camp trek — a moderate three-to-four day walk to Hapakun and Tagaphari at the foot of Rakaposhi's 7,788 m north face. The village itself sits at 2,000 metres in Nagar, an hour off the KKH, and is small enough that everyone recognises the guide-and-porter families who staff the trek. Minapin Glacier tumbles right down to the village — one of the few glaciers in Pakistan you can reach on foot from your guesthouse without a proper expedition.
