The best of two very different worlds. Start with Naran's high-altitude drama — rafting the Kunhar River, crossing Babusar Top and visiting Saiful Malook Lake. Then cross to Sharan's ancient forest, hike to Manshi Top for valley panoramas and spend the evening around a bonfire. Two landscapes, two nights in each, one great road trip through the heart of Kaghan Valley.

Depart before dawn from Islamabad (or at midnight from Lahore). Drive the Kaghan Valley to Naran, check in and have lunch. In the afternoon, head up to Saiful Malook Lake — best experienced on arrival when energy is fresh. Return to Naran for dinner and an early rest ahead of the Babusar day.

An action-packed day. Start with rafting on the Kunhar River before driving north to Lulusar Lake and then up to Babusar Top (4,173m) on the border with Chilas. The views from the top are some of the finest in northern Pakistan. Lunch at Baesar on the descent, then return to Naran for the night.
