Ranikot Fort

Legacy of Talpurs

Bound by the Great Wall of Sindh, Ranikot Fort was built by Talpurs in 1812, it has two blocks. Lower one is called Miri Fort and perched on the cliff is called Sher Qila.

Both blocks is an enormous work of hand cut stone blocks, wide boundary walls and central open courtyards.

Hiking to Sher Qila is recommended in early morning and offers a splendid view of Kirthar region in all directions.

Its about a journey of 6 hours from Karachi, almost by all sort of vehicles; makes Ranikot a perfect weekend getaway from Karachi.
