Khalti Lake

The wide Riverbed

At an altitude of 2217 meters, Ghizer rivers forms a big lake a few miles before Gupis; known as Khalti Lake. Khalti is very popular for its abundance of trout fish. Every evening locals can be seen fishing on either side of the lake for their daily catch of trout. A crisp reflection of the autumn colours can be seen in Khalti during the autumn, while in winter it gets frozen and becomes an ideal spot for sports like ice hockey, skating and cultural dances.
