A Turquoise Gem

At an altitude of 3500m, Katora Lake is a basin in higher ridges of Upper Dir. Katora means bowl, as its a round deep basin collecting all the glacial melts from surrounding mountains. A five hour hike from Takai top brings you to katora lake, the track itself is quite scenic crossing through with a back drop of rocky Hindu Raj mountains.
