After 1206 AD Ghauri’s conquered the city but finally Lahore to got its architectural glory by Mughals after Babar’s conquests it in 1524 – a cornerstone in Mughal Empire’s history of subcontinent. In Mughal era (1524-1739), Lahore flourished along Ravi River as a fortified walled city accessible by its 13 gates was epicentre for evolution of music, art and architecture in the region.
Architecture Marvels like Wazir Khan Mosque, Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque and Shalamar Gardens till date present a contrast to influence of British era (1857-1957) – evident in its Victorian style buildings like Tollinton Market, Lahore Museum and National College of Arts.
