Land of Trout & Streams

From Handrap-Shandur an area of 51800 hectares was been declared as National Park in 1983 to preserve flora and fauna of region. Wildlife variety that includes Snow leopard, Indian grey wolf, Himalayan ibex, Himalayan brown bear and Birds include Booted Eagle, Eurasian Sparrow Hawk, Golden eagle, Himalayan Griffon vulture.

It also preserves alpine meadows of Langar and alpine waterbodies of Handrap and Baha Lake which adds up to annual count of famous Trout Lake in the region. 

Fishing and Hunting is strictly prohibited in Shandur National Park.
