Punjab means five rivers, its the land fed by river Indus and its 4 tributaries; Jehlum, Chenab, Sutluj and Ravi.

Lahore being the capital of Punjab lies at the bank of river Ravi is also the largest city of Punjab. 

History of Punjab goes back to 3000 BC, with its ruins of Harapa being one of the ancient civilisations of Indus Valley.

Other major cities of Punjab are Multan, Faisalabad, Gujrawala and Rahim Yar Khan.
